Rain, Rain finally went away!

Wow...what a crazy past few days here in Atlanta. I think it rained for a week straight. Half of our neighborhood has been under water and roads destroyed. I heard on the news we had 12-15 inches of rain in a 24hr period. I have to say I have never seen anything like it. The kids couldn't get home from school b/c the bus could not get through the neighborhood. School has been canceled for the past 2 days, which my kids love. What they don't realize is that they will have to make those days up later in the year. I guess what they don't know won't hurt them right? Jailan had been looking forward to his soccer season but unfortunately for him the rain has only allowed for them to practice once and have only one game. I hope this is how the whole season will be. Ty is trying to get 3 friends together to play in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament. So far he only has one recruit. :( I am hoping that he will try and play rec ball this season. He hasn't really played any sports since we moved to Kennesaw. I have decided that I want to go back to school and pursue a degree in Photography. I love taking pictures but never really considered it a career option. I'm really excited about it though. I have really gotten tired of the whole hospital thing. Nurses are so under paid and over worked and they are rarely appreciated. It has gotten so hard to get up and go there in the mornings knowing what you are in for. It never seems to get any better. I think the only thing that gets me through most of the days is that I work with a GREAT bunch of girls! I guess that is enough fussing for now. Keagan has really started her talking. It's so cute to listen to. She seems to have started recognizing mine and Doug's faces. When we walk in after a long day she lights up and you can't help but to light up too. These kiddos really make it all worth it! Until next time.....

Way Behind!

Wow! It's been a really long time since I have been on here. Where do I start? I'm trying to remember what all we have been up to lately. We took the kids to Helen a fews weeks ago to go tubing. We had some friends join us. Jailan had never been before and thought it was the coolest thing. The weather was great and we took a picnic and enjoyed it by the river. School seems to be going well for both the boys but getting into a routine hasn't happened yet. Hopefully it will soon! Keagan is really growing. She is starting to talk a lot now, which is the absolute cutest! Doug's softball season has started again so that will keep us busy on Wednesday. I have been picking up some extra hours at work and there for a few days I felt like I hadn't seen my family in forever! I am heading up a Heart Walk team at work....since I do work on a heart floor! If you want to donate please do!!! Doug's birthday is tomorrow and I have planned a little surprise party. I hope it is a surprise and the cat hasn't gotten out of the bag. Saturday we are getting together with all of Doug's family at the park. We are looking forward to that as it will be a good time. I think thats about all I have for now! I hope to be better about getting on here! Until next time.....

Weekend Update

I am finding it difficult to get on here everyday with something to say so these may begin to get a little further apart! We started our weekend with Doug having a double header softball game. They won both their games. Yipee. I was beginning to feel like bad luck for them because every time I showed up they would lose...but that streak was broken! Saturday we hung around the house in the morning, tried to play at little catch at the town green but Keagan was not allowing for much of that. That evening we met Joe, Patra, kiddos and Phil for the Pigs N Peaches BBQ Festival. We went later in the evening so some things were starting to close up shop. But all in all we had a good time. Anytime hanging with friends is a good time. The kids seemed to enjoy it as well. Sunday we just layed around the house being lazy. Doug's parents came by and brought some goodies. It was really appreciated. It is great to have such great family! That pretty much wraps up our weekend, now off we go into a new week! Tootles!

Terrible Tuesday!

Wow what a day yesterday was...It was Keagan's first full day with the babysitter so of course no matter how prepared we thought we were it was in the end false hope! Doug and I both had to work and it was a school day. We woke up a little earlier than normal so that we could get everyone rousted. I have to leave a little earlier than Doug so I got up got ready, woke Ty up and headed to work. Doug finally got out the door with Keagan only to realize that he had left his phone at home and needed to turn around and go get it. I had a crazy day at work. Busy from the moment I stepped on the floor. I had 3 patients that were all having issues one pretty serious along with 7 discharges. The patients being discharged are always the most impatient and never seem to understand that you have to take care of the patients having problems before you can get them out the door. So I am hoofing along at work when Doug calls. He is on his way home from work and his tire blew out. He was stuck on the side of the interstate...Good thing he turned around to go get that phone! So I had to leave work early to go get him. It was too late to try to get a tire. So needless to say we were late picking up Keagan. Thank goodness she has a great babysitter! That is the start of my week....hopefully it can only get better!

First Day of School

Well today was back to school day in our house. Ty started 8th grade and as you can imagine he was not the least bit thrilled. Jailan on the other hand started Kindergarten and was extremely excited! He rode the bus for the first time. He looked like such a big boy getting on the bus. Both of them had good days at school. After getting the boys on their buses we had to take Keagan for her 2 mo check up. She now weighs 12lbs 12oz and is 24 3/4in tall. She is taller than 99% of babies her age. I told Doug it looked like she may have gotten some of her uncle Daryl's genes. Other than that the doctor said she is looking great. The rest of the day was just spent hanging around the house. Nothing too exciting. Its back to work tomorrow so I guess I better hit the hay!

Our Busy Weekend

Well I missed a day posting so I will start with Friday.....We got up bright and early so that Ty could go get his braces. It took about an hour and a half and then emerged as an official brace face! It only took about an hour before he was complaining about being sore. We have tried to keep him drugged up and he is living off milkshakes and mashed potatoes. Later that afternoon I had a Dr. appt. Lost 2 more pounds...WooHoo If I could just get the jiggle to go away I would be happy. Once Doug got home we took both boys to spend the night at Casey's. Jailan has been dying to spend the night with Chance. We got to meet Casey's new pet, Suzie the flying squirrel. What a cute little marsupial she is! Doug got up with Keagan and let me sleep in a little this morning. Such a doll he is! She was a little cranky this morning but seemed to mellow out a little as the day went on. We had some grocery shopping to do so we got that out of the way before picking up the boys. We spend soooo much more when they are with us. Both boys seemed a little cranky when we picked them up. I guess they were tired. Evidently they had been in the pool the majority of the day. Something both of them love. After we picked them up we headed over to Doug's parent to pick up a wok. Doug has promised Ty some eggrolls. Not sure he is going to be able to eat them but they are in the kitchen whipping them up as we speak. Poor Jailan is running a fever tonight. It was 102.8 so I gave him some Motrin and that seemed to be bringing it down. Hopefully he will be fine tomorrow. I would hate for him to miss the first day of school b/c he was sick. He is a little too young to be trying to play hookie! Well I must go to bed, its back to work for me in the morning! Hasta Luego!

Meet the Teacher Day

This morning we got up so that we could meet Jailan's teacher. The bus will run its normal school route and pick you up for the meet and greet and then bring you back home. We had plans to ride the bus so we walked down to the bus stop and waited a few minutes but the bus never came. We came to the conclusion that we had missed it. So we walked back home and got in the car. As we were backing out of the driveway, there goes the bus!! Figures! Guess that should teach me a lesson in patience. I was really hoping to get to ride the bus with him. We got to the school, it was a mad house as expected. There were cars lined up all down the street, some even parking in other businesses parking lots. Kids were everywhere, parents where everywhere. Jailan met his teacher. She seems pretty young and hopefully is a good fit for him. He was really excited and can't wait to go to school on Monday. I signed up for the PTA and volunteered for a few activities. I hope to be involved as much as I can at the school. As much as Keagan will allow that is! After meet and greet we headed to one of Jailans favorite places...The Mushroom, a play area at our swimming pool. The water in it is ice cold but it never seems to stop the kids. We ran into Keagans babysitter there and Jailan played with her little boys for a while. Ty swam in the larger pool for a little while but seemed to get bored quickly because none of his friends were there. It was blazing hot and again I think I burned. Tomorrow is Ty's big day...look for pics! Nighty night for now!
